Doctors appointment

Today we went to see the hematologist for check-up. I had been a bit worried about the counts, as the platelet count was the lowest ever for Sebastian on last check-up in November last year. It was still within normal ranges though, but I was afraid that it had started to fall - which would be a sign of the onset of deteriorating bone marrow function.

To our very big surprise all counts (platelets, red and white) are still all within normal ranges, and the platelet count had even risen a bit. Good news! Sebastian seems to be atypical in the sense that he had falling counts already at age two weeks. They fell to a level where he had to have a bloodtransfusion (when he was appr. 4 weeks old). Since then all bloodcounts have risen, and have been within normal ranges ever since. No one can really explain what happened at that point - but the main thing is that Sebastian is doing great for the time being.

Tomorrow we are leaving for a trip to the UK. We are going to visit Lars, Rikke, Camille and Laura in Bristol for a couple of days, and then we will go to London. We have booked an appartment and will go shopping and sightseeing from there. We hope to be able to visit Barbara + family as well while we are there, and say hello to her new baby Emily.

LOVE THE FAMILY PIC! How cute! The other pictures are beautiful too and I'm so glad the drop in counts were just temporary. Love all the smiles.
